Countering U.S. Intervention & Foreign Policy

In 2009, the United States supported the architects of the military-backed coup in Honduras, ushering in a succession of corrupt, repressive governments. The post-coup period culminated in the narcodictatorship of former President Juan Orlando Hernández and a mass exodus of the Honduran people, starting in 2014. Despite extreme violence, the United States maintained support for the golpista regimes for over a decade and remains a destabilizing force in Honduras today, continuing to meddle in the internal affairs of the country.

As a member of the Honduras Solidarity Network (HSN) and an active participant of its Congressional Working Group, at CATRA we work on coalitional efforts to demand justice and accountability for U.S. interference.
